Committee Agreed with Smart Planning and Unanimously Approved our Planning ApplicationJanuary 18th, 2018
In December 2017, Smart Planning successfully secured planning permission for a first floor extension to a chalet bungalow in the countryside to enable it to be extended into a full two storey dwellinghouse.
A planning application was submitted to Maldon District Council following careful design by Smart Planning’s Design Studio and consultation with our clients to ensure that the design would meet their needs. A past design that the clients had produced by a previous architect did not provide them with an attractive or useable scheme which they were desperate to achieve so we were keen to overcome these issues and provide them with a positive solution.
During the course of the application, Officers at the Council were raising concern regarding the impact of the proposed development on the countryside and the application was called before the Planning Committee. At the Committee meeting our Senior Planning Consultant successfully argued that the proposed scheme would not affect the countryside or local area by drawing on her comprehensive knowledge of similar and much larger developments that the Council had approved elsewhere in the Borough. The Committee agreed with us by overturning their Officer’s recommendation and voted to unanimously approve our planning application.
Our clients were extremely pleased with this result as this would mean a much better living environment for their family to grow and allowing them to remain in their much loved property rather than having to move elsewhere.
