Q. How can I become part of the Smart Planning Team?

A. We are rapidly expanding but always keep our website up to date with all of the current vacancies. Please visit the careers section of our website to see which role you would be best suited to and find out how to apply for the position.

Q. Is there a time limit to appeal?

A. Yes there are time limits to appeal and this time constraint starts from the date printed on your decision notice. You have 6 months from the date of decision for a Full planning application, 6 months for an Outline planning application and 12 weeks for a Householder planning application. Certificate applications currently have no time restrictions for appeal but this may change in time. Please contact us if you are unsure as to how long you have to appeal.

Q. My planning application has been refused. Can I appeal?

A. Depending on the reasons for refusal you may be able to appeal to the Secretary of State. Please contact us and book into our weekly client surgery where we provide FREE planning advice. We can advise you whether an appeal is appropriate or whether you should seek to submit a revised planning application.

Q. How do I know if I need planning permission?

A. If you are unsure whether you need Planning Permission please do not hesitate to contact us for a preliminary discussion. You can also visit the Planning Portal where they provide you with interactive guides and information on the planning system.

Q. How do I become a graduate intern?

A. The Smart Planning Graduate Intern Programme is run on a yearly basis. Keep an eye on the website for more information. Alternatively simply call or email us with your CV

Q. Where are your offices located?

A. We have offices in both Essex and London. Visit our ‘Find Us’ page for the full address and to search for directions.

Q. What time do you open?

A. Our Docklands office is open between 8:30am and 4:30pm. The Head Office is open between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Both offices are open Monday to Friday.
