Smart Planning obtained planning permission for 31 houses at Planning Committee. The design concept was based upon a development surrounding a green. One Councillor commented ‘ The design of the houses is good, and the green is nice area – great scheme!’.
The site had been allocated within the now withdrawn Emerging Local Plan for release from the Green Belt to provide housing delivery. The relevance of the Council’s lack of a 5 year housing land supply was also an important factor. There were no objections to the scheme from Statutory Consultees on grounds of impact on residential amenity, highways, environmental health or ecology and trees.
A total of 12 Affordable houses are included as part of the scheme to help meet the very real local housing needs along with the scheme as a whole in meeting local housing need.
