Public Consultation is a regulatory process where input is sought from the public on matters that may affect them. The goal of a Public Consultation is to improve the efficiency, transparency and public involvement in large-scale development projects.
A Public Consultation involves;
Notification (to publicise the matter to be consulted on)
- Consultation (a two-way flow of information and opinion exchange)
- Participation (including the opinion exchange and responses from the Public in the development of the proposal).
Smart Planning held their last consultation on Saturday 9 February on a large proposal in Great Braxted in Essex.
We consulted Neighbours, Councillors, the Parish Council and the Local Planning Authority. We provided all of the consultees with a briefing pack, plans and response forms to complete and return should they wish.
A presentation was held, a site tour was conducted and questions were answered on the proposed development. We reviewed proposed plans, reports and obtained relevant feedback from attendees.
